Photos from our second meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended our second GOALL meeting at the FAMU Law Library on Thursday, June 14th. We had a great time and a great lunch. I wanted to offer special thanks to our gracious hosts at the FAMU Law Library, especially Tony Miller and Karen Gingold, who organized the meeting, Robin Holmes for taking photos, and Dean LeRoy Pernell for allowing everything to take place at FAMU.

Thanks should also go to Tony, Jessica Riggins of the Tampa Bay Library Consortium, and Reba Curtiss of the Sanford-Brown Institute for their informative presentations, Matthew Amon of Thomson Reuters for providing generous gift bags, and Heather Caro of LexisNexis for sponsoring our meeting with a delicious catered luncheon.

Be on the lookout for an invitation to an evening social function before the end of the summer.  So far, people are suggesting a trivia night (since it's less embarrassing for most people than karaoke).  A team of law librarians will be a force to be reckoned with, so stay tuned!

Thank you to Matthew Amon and Elizabeth Jepson of Thomson Reuters for sponsoring GOALL with a wonderful catered lunch and Westlaw goodies, and thank you so much to all the law librarians who took time out of their busy Fridays to meet at Barry for the first of many GOALL events.

I am honored by your faith in me, and I will do everything I can to make this group prosper and grow, but most importantly, to make it worth your valuable time. I could not have done this without my colleagues at the Barry University School of Law Library, especially my fellow reference librarians Pat Brown and Ann Pascoe, our Director, Phill Johnson, and the Dean of our law school, Leticia Diaz. But none of this would be happening without all of YOU. So start brainstorming about what you want for future GOALL activities, meetings, and social functions, and we'll be in touch.

Welcome to GOALL!

The Greater Orlando Association of Law Libraries (GOALL) is an informal group of law librarians situated in Central Florida, comprising Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Brevard, and Volusia Counties, although everybody is welcome. Founded in 2012 at Barry University School of Law in Orlando, GOALL exists to create networking opportunities, foster cooperation, and build a sense of community among law librarians in the area.
